The Ghost of Cutler Creek - Cynthia DeFelice

Publisher:  Farrar, Straus & Giroux
Pages:  208
Source:  My shelves
Genre:  Middle Grade Mystery

I love books written by Cynthia DeFelice. I've always been a fan of ghost stories so hers are perfect for me to recommend to my students. Allie is a young girl who hears and sees ghosts. No one believes her except her friend Dub. This time she is haunted by a whine that sounds like a dog. How in the world is she to help a ghost dog if he can't speak to her? Her fears that it is a dog is validated when her brother must be taken to the hospital with an allergic reaction to something. The only thing he is allergic to is dogs. That is why they don't have one. Allie and Dub set out to try to help the dog and find out that not all so called dog lovers and sellers truly are dog lovers. For some it is all about the money. Read "The Ghost of Cutler Creek" and find out how this mystery is solved. It is the perfect book for those who love ghost mysteries but not the ones that leave them with nightmares.

  2. What a wonderful site. We have a cat that is inside. My fear since we live on a busy street is that one day he may get out and get hit. This is a site I've passed on to my brother-in-law and my husband. In answer to your last question: I am a teacher and we have been gearing up for state testing. When I am not bogged down I try to update every day. When school gets in the way then I try to update at least 3 times a week. I have students write reviews and post them on Saturdays. I have enough to take me through the summer. Summer time I read and write much more.
