This was a story that was so good I didn't want to put it down, yet it was so heart wrenching I didn't want to read it.  This is the story of a young girl who is abducted by a man named Ray.  She is ten years old when he first abducts her.  He repeatedly rapes her.  He threatens to kill her parents if she tries to escape.  He also lets her know she is the second little girl he has abducted and named Alice.  He shows her the newspaper clippings where the police had found the first Alice's body.  He had kept the first Alice until she was 15 and no longer looked like a little girl.

Alice hopes her time will end soon.  Ray has something else planned for her.  He wants her to help him find another little girl.   He has even picked out a name for her.  That is when Alice realizes he doesn't plan on killing her.  He plans on making the three of them a family.  She is prepared to go through with it and then things change.  This was a no win situation from the very beginning.  The story is never completely resolved and ends in a way the reader doesn't ever suspect.  As horrifying a read as this was I would recommend it highly.
