Summary From Back of Book:

Crossroads Crisis Center owner Benjamin Brandt was a content man-- in his faith, his work, and his family.  Then in a flash, everything he loved was snatched away.  His wife and son were murdered, and grief-stricken Ben lost faith.  Determination to find their killers keeps him going, but after three years of dead ends and torment, his hope is dying too.  Why had he survived?  He'd failed to protect his family.  Now, a mysterious woman appears at Crossroads seeking answers and help--a victim who eerily resembles Ben's deceased wife, Susan.  A woman robbed of her identity, her life, of everything except her faith--and Susan's necklace.  The connections between the two women mount, exceeding coincidence, and to keep the truth hidden, someone is willing to kill.  Finding out who and  why turns Ben and the mystery woman's situation from dangerous to deadly.  Their only hope for survival is to work together, trust each other, and face whatever they discover head on, no matter how painful.  But will that be enough to save their lives and heal their tattered hearts?

After reading the  book I had to ask myself what I would do or how I would react if the last thing I remembered was someone kidnapping me and waking up to find they had left me for dead and I didn't know who I was.   Realizing that someone was still trying to kill me and I didn't know why.  This describes the plight of the main character.  She knew she was a woman of faith and that sustained her.  So I had to ask myself if I would react the same way or would I boo-hoo and throw myself a pity party?  This is a definite must read.
This was the first book I had read by this author.  I so enjoyed it I checked out her website and found several books to add to my wish list.  Vicki is a master at writing thrillers.  Just about the time I thought I had figured out who was good and who was bad she slipped in another character or another turn.  I felt sorry for both of the main characters.  The book opens with a murder.  This is followed by the conversation of a young lady with her financial advisor warning her that she has been "found".  You are left to wonder who is after her and why.  The story is so well crafted that you go along and just about the time you think you have it figured out something happens and you have to take a step back and say, "Whoa, I didn't see that  coming"!  You must then re-think all of the things you already know, add in the latest twist and then off you go again.  I had a hard time putting the book down. The author kept me hanging on until the end.  Once I thought it was almost over, all the bad guys had gotten what they deserved then she added just enough to make you want the second book which won't be out until Spring of 2011.  I definitely will talk this book up and look forward to reading the sequel.
