Case of the Great Granny - Thomas Pisano

Publisher:  Create Space
Pages: 144
Genre:  Adult Mystery
Source:  Review Copy from Bostic

Let me say first of all that anyone who likes detective stories might like this book.  It reminded of the dimestore detective novels you used to be able to buy.  It was not an unpleasant read, it just wasn't my cup of tea.  Detective Daggers, a rough character used to having things his way is called to the murder of an old lady.  To top this off, after a shooting he is given a partner.  His young partner brings out a side of him that makes him more likeable as a character.  As the body count climbs it becomes difficult to keep up with the characters introduced and involved in the plot.  If the confusing plot wasn't bad enough he had to throw in a sex scene near the end of the book.  It made everything seem cheap and unimportant.  If I had to give it a star rating I would give it a 2 out of 3.  It was difficult to follow the plot line of who did what and when.  I will pass this book on to someone who might like this type of book.
