The Anatomy of Ghosts - Andrew Taylor

Publisher:  Michael Joseph
Pages:  480 Pages
Genre:  Adult Mystery
Source:  Received review copy from publisher

This was my first Andrew Taylor novel, but it will not be  my last.  Lady Oldershaw has hired John Holdsworth to help her son.  While away at Jerusalem College, he claims to have seen the ghost of a young woman who had recently drowned.  He is now locked away in an asylum.  Lady Oldershaw had called on John Holdsworth for his assistance because he has written something denouncing the spirit world.  She wants him to find out the truth. This book was so authentic in its setting that I felt as if I was viewing the late 1700's in Cambridge.  The description of the social classes and circumstances surrounding each one was very accurate.  The mysteries within the pages carried me forward.  This is a book that I will definitely pass along to those who like me love a good mystery
